The point of my version was to isolate the variables. You have multiple variables in your hypothetical.

If you think my guy gets tried, then you would think your guy should get tried, too, but for the fact that he wasn't himself when he shot. You were questioning me re bad acts and good outcomes. In my scenario there was a bad act and a good outcome just like in yours but you would indict my guy. Ergo, to do less to your guy would have to be based on him being whacked out at the time. Or perhaps because your good outcome is more significant than mine so you weigh them differently.

BTW, if your guy is with the embassy, then he has diplomatic immunity anyway. <g>
