John, Frederick Seitz started the site many years ago. I first noticed it (I believe), nearly 5 years ago.

Frederick Seitz's credentials are superb. If you had to select a resume of one person in the world to analyze global climate changes, you would be hard-pressed to find someone better than he.

About two years ago, the New York Times even featured the site during one of their Global Warming scare articles, and was unable to find fault with the signatures presented. I would assume given their far left attitude regarding Global Warming, they tried pretty hard.

Many sites have now sprung up for no other purpose than to attack the petition signatures and founding member. If you're truly interested and would like to become informed about the Global Warming issue, I suggest you read some of those sites, along with the ones linked from the petition.
