Hi David.

Interesting your view of gold as "simply another commodity". I don't share this view, but as I haven't lived the future (or at least don't remember living it :) ), who's to say.

My own take is that gold will revert back to its historic role as a store of value. However, in an absolute global scramble to monetary liquidity, and potentially significantly rising US interest rates to defend the US$, I can't see gold soaring in value. But the metal may hold its own, and that's why I hold it ... but to me there certainly appears to be excessive optimism and speculation in the precious and base metal mining stocks.

We certainly live in interesting times. :)
