yes you are so right and we might as well start drafting consumption tax plans.

I am managing an offshore team and when I went to the orientation (sponsored by Satyam the indian consulting firm) there were a number of firms there ready to help me "set up shop" with a foreign bank account as a consultant to US companies paid directly into an offshore bank. (This won't work for me because I work directly for the local firms- I wouldn't do it anyway). Still, how many are pursuing this avenue. Consultants that come here on some visas are not paid in the US to skirt taxes. We might as well plan for this and create a workable system now. I'm not even sure consumption is totally fair because if you do business here you should have to pay somewhere, somehow.
