My tactic when I cooled my heels in Brazil after leaving Czech Republic, was to steadily drop my fee until it matched the market. That deflation allowed me to come bak to the market. Got the DMC deal in Thailand. Went to Motorola, still deflated. Now, for Malaysia, I recovered the fee level I had before + some on top.

By deflating a bit, allows the guy to be on the market, keep abreast with what is going on, expand the contacts and throw the net wider, see how others are doing etc.
