It's the sulphur in the coal that causes acid rain. The newer plants now burn coal that has been powdered and washed. Doing that gets rid of most of the sulphur before burning the coal.

uw--Is there truth the the St Peterburg FL article that our GI's who are injured and hospitalized have to pay for their food while in the hospital? If so, what is the law number, or title?

Evidently it was passed by Congress in 1981...I'd like to know what kind of rationale went into it, and who proposed it and why?
