The statements to which you refer, Gina, is one of those that could be written in Louisiana. It's a piece of evidence that would have been provided by Bremer, long distance. On the conversations with individuals, I think you misunderstand me. I'm not arguing he did not talk to these people. But the frame he places on the conversations could not have been derived from them. He either had it before left or someone in the White House could have offered it to him. That's my guess.

As for whether he made the trip, I see no evidence that he did not. I don't see any reason to doubt the trip. Do you?

Well, let's take the one statement you quote.

"one-third of the total national potential of 8,000 megawatts is up and running. Downed power lines are being repaired and were about 70 percent complete when I left. There is water purification where little or none existed before, and it is available for everyone."

I'm not arguing that statement is wrong. I'm arguing the good judge could not know that. It's a statement handed out by Bremer's office, most likely. That doesn't make it wrong. It does make it, however, something he did not need to travel to Iraq to write up.
