When I showed up at rehearsal the Catholic Priest barred me from entry because of my casual attire.

I erred earlier when I said I'd only been to two weddings. You just reminded me that there were three. I attended an aunt's wedding when I was maybe ten. My aunt was a spinster and I don't know how she and this guy ever found each other but they were the perfect match. He had what we would now call a social phobia. He lived to hunt and fish and eschewed contact with people. Lovely couple, they turned out to be. Still together. Anyway, this uncle had to be browbeaten just to show up for his wedding in a sports jacket without a tie. I recall all the flap about it and how the Church fussed and fussed and finally agreed to marry them but only a private wedding just for family. Like I said, a perfect couple. Church strikes again. Although maybe not as bad as our mother of the groom. <g>

I have to ask.
What kind of tux did you have ON?
Was it pale blue with ruffles? Did you look like Elvis?
I just can't imagine what a priest would object to about a TUX. You can't get much more formal. Did they specify tails or something?
