mish, thanks for the charts from brian bear but to echo jj's comment, I don't find this longer term stuff useful from a timeliness standpoint, and I'm not speaking of the 5 yr H&S but instead I mean his chart showing negative divergences on the A/D vs the MACD. He mentions on 8/31 to watch for the impending movement, then more than 3 weeks later we get a decline long overdue in most anybody's book and he says essentially "See? here it is, the decline I told you was coming." With that amount of time lag that's not really much of a precision indicator setup in my book. Heck, even using the VIX 18 indicator was a little closer than that. Nevertheless, even though I'm critical of the timeliness of his call, I appreciate his publicly sharing his take on the market and the ideas proposed in his chart.
