BP, though I totally agree, you have to play fair. Telemarketers are only allowed to call between 8 A.M. and 9 P.M. So you have to nail him then to be consistent.

The do-not-call list was so riddled with exceptions, I was afraid to sign up, because it would probably increase call to my unlisted number.

I think the judge was correct because it was discrimatory since it didn't stop all calls. Exempt are:
Charities
Politicians
Market Researchers - which is all telemarketers now.
Announcements of prizes won - if you listen to sales pitch.
Calling an 800 number to ask a question can trigger calls for 3 mo.

I would like a do-not-call were nobody calls me. NOBODY. I pay the phone bill, so it should be my (our) right. Maybe this ruling will help create a real do-not-call.
