Hello Bob. I wouldn't count AMD out so quickly. Their new 64 bit processor seems to be gaining lots of attention. Furthermore, Fleckenstein, the hedge fund bear, even had favorable things to say about AMD and that the tide was quickly changing. First time I have ever heard him say anything positive. Of course, he may have been motivated as he also said he was shorting INTC. Just repeating what I heard with my two ears.

<Personally I think AMD is dead meat-the only thing they can do is bleed money and they still don't have a 300mm fab.>

Not directly. Don't forget they backed out of the process technology deal with UMC to go with IBM for high end 300mm. They did not have to take the expense/risk to climb that uncertain learning curve with UMC . They just got it off the shelf from IBM. It also includes the cloning of the IBM fab. Check careers at IBM and AMD. Many process liason jobs at AMD in New York! Chartered also a beneficiary.
Cheers
