Hi Jay,
Always bear in mind that Mat Simmonds is (ok my opinion only here) a permabull on energy.

That having been said I doubled my Baytex BTE.UN position the day before ex-div . On ex-div day I was encouraged by the fact that it only closed down by .02 with a .15 payout :o) Although some did sell at a discount to to the ex-dividend during the day (less than previous close minus divi).
