That's a funny post, Bill. You may, by now, realize you posted the column twice within the body of that one post. I'm tempted to tweak you by noting you have so little good news to post you need to post it twice. But, then I would never do that.

I liked the Ignatius piece. As I read the post, he's saying the city is cleaner, a bit more money is going into Iraqi hands, but the prospects for serious revolt against US troops from the Sunnis and for civil war between the Sunnis and Shiites grows.

As I put the various things together that I read, that fits. And the big issues remain security, security, security. One element of that is the prospects of serious revolt and the other is the prospect of civil war.

It might even be that, up close, it would look as if things are simultaneously getting better and worse.
