I doubt they would have anything "new" to offer. Even if Chinese themselves are stilling re-assessing that 16 years (bet. 1950 to 1966) of history and the Culture Revolution, how could one expect some Westerners who have never lived in China for one day during that time, who, most likely, do not even understand Chinese, and based on all their research only on the current English publication on those political events? And majority of those publications are so biased and they are jokes. Even some Chinese young people who still have some brain left now start to question the impression they got for those time. Most of the current literature and media, whether in China or in other countries, describe those time as very suppressive, sad, and painful, but when they talked about it with the older people who have lived through that period of time, a lot of them talked about that 16 years with happiness, with pride, with joy, and with "good old days" feelings. Doesn't that tell you something is not right in the current "painted' pictures about those time?
