Bob's biggest asset is his ability to snooker deep thinkers

Yep...but anyone can do this if they have a forceful opinion, controlled content and a receptive listener.

Brinker first convinces confused newbies that they have the skills to control their own financial future. So they go fire their broker that they've known for years who may be a fool but at least he's got the resources of a large investment firm and he's reachable.

Then Brinker proclaims himself to these unsuspecting few as the oracle of market timing. In place of a broker you must buy the newsletter and be on alert every day to jump on his recommendation which he may or may not issue via a bulletin or on-air or just by special mailing. If you are too busy and miss a call, you are on your own for advice.

There's never a hint that Brinker might be inexperienced. There's never a hint that Brinker's advice in the past has failed. There's never a listing of qualifications. There are no additional resources that can be accessed. Newbies must simply trust that a talking head on the radio, reachable only through a screener maybe on weekends, will have the right answers.

When you step back and think deeply about it, it's a wonder that anyone follows Brinker. Which is why I say that Brinker only appeals to those already confident in stock market workings which is exactly the group he has offended the most.
