"Jewel, if you bring up that 70 percent thing one more time ... I would bet (if I were a betting man) that I have way more understanding of research than you do. Not bragging, simply that I have some experience and you have not demonstrated much understanding of the issue. It is not that the 70% figure is statistically significant on its own. It is that in the article and context that it was offered it gave support to the notion that the devastating harm that is occurring is real, not rare, and increasing at an alarming rate. I find your willingness to dismiss the whole issue in lieu of advancing your position of far more revealing and significant. I can understand how it would unnerve you so...
