Hello martin, I think I would be happy to switch from gold to a high real interest rate currency eventually (i.e. USD, CAD, etc at +10% real rate) but not so much a high nominal interest rate money (Brazilian Real, Philippine Peso at + 25% nominal but 3% real rate).

I also need to keep in mind that my base currency is USD for accounting because HKD is hard-pegged to USD. The real interest rate on bank deposit is negative 4%, and on US treasury is effectively 0%.
