Don't start it here. no offense intended. it's hard for me to understand why that tongue-in-cheek post might have offended you (although, seriously, i do hold the CEO responsible for great damages to this country). i'm guessing that it's a difference in values between us. while you seem to put a great value on loyalty to a head of state... i put my loyalty first to the universe, then the planet, then to humanity and THEN to country. the CEO of the country is way down the line, he's a manager hired by the public to manage the country's affairs and if he's doing a substandard job, he's responsible to us - we are his employer. it is my job to either motivate him to improve his performance or fire him. otherwise, i betray my higher loyalties. i have tried to motivate him via personal correspondence in regards to some of his mismanagement and received an unacceptable, misguided reply suggesting that my concerns were shallow and ignorant. i appreciate that he replied with a personal letter but did NOT appreciate the content of his response. would you reply to your employer or client in such a manner? i don't think so. (this doesn't make me feel hurt or vindictive - it just shows me that he's unresponsive to my concerns) it offends me that the current CEO has belittled the universe by declaring that some of its creations are evil and not deserving of existence. it offends me that he has belittled the value of the planet by revoking many accords and agreements that would help to protect the natural environment. it offends me that he has completely ignored and denounced the principles of law on the international stage and has given not only his blessing but his command that many people should be murdered without due process of law. (FWIW - i don't support the death penalty nor the concept of revenge - i'm in agreement with jesus of nazareth and mahatma gandhi on these values - but even if the death penalty is justified in other's eyes - no one can authorize it without trial... can they?? -- would you? -- self- defense is NOT pre-emptive -- that would be called self- OFFENSE.) it offends me that our CEO has followed exactly the opposite fiscal policy that you yourself promote for financial success. (first become debt free and then - and only then - carefully invest in life-enhancing, appreciating assets.) this man has attacked and damaged all that i am loyal to. i have no desire that he be hurt or punished, i only want him removed from the position that affords him the power to abuse and damage all that i hold dear. is this thread the appropriate place for me to discuss this? probably. it's always been a place for us to discuss our deepest feelings and i've read countless posts of yours that promote your values... most of which i respect... but a few of which i disagree with. i've always thought that the CEO's actions have been the MAJOR influence on the market that we've all been investing in. it may just be my opinion, but if you look at the market action since this CEO arrived you can't deny that my theory and the poor performance of the market are very closely aligned. you must admit that i've NEVER suggested that you don't post your feelings or values on these subjects here. i'm sad that my post moved you so uncomfortably as to make you suggest that i censor my expression of the values that i hold most important... or from offering a tongue-in- cheek expression of my frustration with a dangerous CEO. anyhoo, it's just my opinion, and i'd feel guilty of deception if i didn't express it. it moves me strongly. i'm not advocating making this thread one for philosophical, religious or political discussion - that would suck - there's plenty of those threads available... but this has always been a place where we share ourselves and our values with each other and i think it'll always remain that way as long as dealie doesn't think we're making personal attacks on each other. i'm not writing this to instigate a debate on the differences in our personal values and i certainly invite you to rebut all i've said from your own point of view... but i won't rebut your rebuttal... this post is enough to explain myself. </rant> you influence many with your values. i may or may not influence many with mine... but we both must speak our truth. respectfully, -polvie <polvie re-reads ranger rick's post and reconsiders his response...> rickster- ok rick. i am applying "old spice" to all my stinky parts. ...and you are always welcome in my neighborhood... old spice... or no old spice. you are important to me. -polvie
