Her writing is the place she has chosen to "make a difference" for the time being. She has already reported that her male relatives won't let her go out without an escort. And her job is gone. Personally, I am grateful for her writing. It's elegant, and gives one more voice on the spot to listen to. More useful than reading the same old banter back and forth on most of the boards or in most of the debates devoted to the war. I'm not sure you and I are doing anything different from what you say she is doing (or "not" doing) by writing on these boards. What do we "accomplish" by this? I doubt we actually change anyone's mind. Maybe (big maybe here) we add a little depth to opinions already held, or maybe we force one or two people to clarify their opinions for themselves.
