Wesley Clark doesn't have warmth now? Like who? Dick "Coldest Heart In The West" Cheney? Clark seems to have plenty of warmth, a caring spirit and genuine honest appeal. Who writes those trashy articles you post?

"a little arrogant . . . not beloved by his colleagues . . . self-centered . . . high-maintenance"

Those are the minimum prerequisites for all type-A high-flyer personalities in Washington. Most people in senior positions in politics, the bureaucracy and the military are much worse. That's how they reached their "lofty" positions. And the staffers are twice as bad as the principals most of the time.

If that's as bad as Clark gets, he should get a medal for sainthood.

Looks like we are months away from a debate on real issues - just kicking around the personality assassination BS on all sides until then.

The reporters will chase whatever looks like most tantalizing story line instead of reporting the campaign, the party activists will spin and lie and distort and whip everyone into a frenzy, the voters will be steered to a personality horse race and get so fed up by Christmas that they won't give a flip about issues by next fall, and so on.

This is really sad. But I said that before, so this will be my last soapbox pontification - for now.
