Zachary Latif 14:37 -Pakistan is crippled by the cases of exploitation, and estimates place miion of children trapped in this unfortunate cycle. I think a practical solution of hindering future cases is credit expansion.

Iqbal Masih was sold because that was the only way his family could have access to funds and if they had an alternative source of credit, which wasn't so exploitative, I doubt Iqbal would have had to endure the misery that he did. The Grameen bank of Bangladesh, by lending to the poorest of the society, has been responsible for the upliftment of the nation. It is important to remember that it is the access to money, liquidity and wealth creating mechanisms that can allow nations such as Pakistan escape the bane of slavery.

However that does not mean we should be all vigorous and vehement in stamping down these activities and arresting those who are so reprehensible so as to enslave children.
