Thanks for the response. If industry is more efficient, productivity is increased at the expense of the "human component".. So what do we do with the reduced human component?.. Not much.. IMO, so they (humans) will have to accept "lesser work time" as technology takes it's place...

Throughout these last hundreds of years, the work week has declined as productivity has increased due to technology. And that was when there was a WIDE spread between the productivity of developed and undeveloped parts of the world.. Now that spread is narrowing, the curves are meeting, some of the productivity plots might even be passing us.. So I don't know what the answer is.. Accept the inevitable or..

Maybe find a less developed alien planet for the planet Earth to send it's excess goods and services (which IMO, there will be a lot of) to.. :)
