Australians are great allies and they are very good hosts for the USN. While New Zealand was preventing USN vessels from visiting for fear of a nuclear weapon, the Australians were glad to let the USN visit. With 5 months at sea with only 4 days off in the Maldives it was 10 wild and crazy days and nights in Perth, Exmoth and Sydney.

I visited Maurice's land of Sheeple via a military air flight.

Australia has plenty to worry about in addition to Indonesia. They have very little petroleum resources and they are competing with flow to India, China, Malaysia and Japan. A little disturbance with oil shipments from the Persian Gulf could be quite damaging.
