I actually despise how the two political parties try to pressure us into two often poor choices. It seems that the parties will often eschew leadership for 'electability', whatever that is.

One of the interesting things about this recall has been that the early focus was on the candidate qualifications and not the usual partisan politics. Unfortunately, when other Demos stayed out and Simon dropped out, it reverted back to the same-old-same-old.

The good thing, is that after Teddy Roosevelt's run, the progressives pretty much left the Republican Party for the Democrats.
