Why the hell we have 42,000 troops in Germany still is beyond me. But I am sure some large contingent is necessary for support in Afghanistan and Iraq. Maybe Poland should receive the benefit of these bases.

An interesting website listing the Iraqi debts and reparations. No wonder Shroeder was quick to move once Putin decided he did not want to continue being one the Three Stooges.
