That's why every republican administration in my lifetime has been besieged by a scandal, one of which included a presidential resignation. My inclination is to point out to you that exactly one, Nixon, involved a true scandal, and the rest were trumped up by the democrats for polictical purposes. But on second thought, I think I'll just refer you to the Clinton administration, clearly the most scandal-plagued presidency in history -- from Whitewater to Monica, from Travelgate to the sale of pardons to the highest bidder, and with so much crooked activity in between the lists are simply too long to repeat. Then there was Johnson, who in my view, was the figurehead in the biggest scandal in American history, i.e., the wholesale slaughter of 58,300 Americans due to absolute incompetence resulting from his extreme liberalism which led to his inability to win a damned war decisively. And before him, JFK. Republican "scandals" have been nothing more than Democrats leveling unfounded charges against republicans for political reasons. Same thing happened with Gingrich, who was a fantastic leader successfully destroyed by the Left. As I said most crooked politicians are Democrats.
