Hi KyrosL, <<NLY>> ...

It was an OK trade the last few times I tried it ...

I bought back my dollops of Annaly (NLY) October Put strike price 17.5 at USD 0.60/option.

They were first shorted here at USD USD 1.85/1.95 Message 18732391 (March 21st, 2003), thus allowing me to harvest another undeserved gain of USD 1.3/option.

I say “again” because, like a bad habit, I had done it before, when I posted to you

… and then …

So, as you see, I have collected USD 3.00/option over a 7 months period, which is, of course, much higher return than buying the shares and waiting for its high dividend. NLY may have to cut the high dividend, and until that happens, I will ignore it.

It is a way to bet with BurnAndKaput and wager together with Greensputin :0)

NLY doing well depends on (a) low short term rates, (b) steep yield curve, and (c) no derivatives explosion.

Although I am bearish on the US markets overall, I try not to fall into the genuine bear trap of being negative just to be not positive or just because it is perhaps intellectually more stimulating.

So I exercise in the stormy markets, to test the waters, keep in practice, gain some loot, and keep an open mind.

Excursions such as NLY help me to do all that ;0)

Chugs, Jay
