Sorry I didn't make myself clear. After the restore, I DID use the control panel add/remove applet to first remove the old version of Trojan Hunter and it said it removed all components. Trojan Hunter doesn't have its own built-in uninstaller. AFTER that I took a look in Programs in My Computer and found the folder with the old version still in existence. The Add/Remove applet didn't show Trojan Hunter any longer and that is when I deleted the old version folder and its files and ran RegCleaner. I didn't see any other option.

Thanks for the heads up and your never-ending assistance.

Marty

"let me add a word of caution. Never get rid of a program by deleting the folder"

the TrojanHunter developer actually advises people to either uninstall the existing version first OR install the new version in a different folder, then simply delete the old version folder

i agree with the advice you have given, but with TH, this folder deletion method definitely works okay

i just installed v3.7 to its own folder. after i saw it was updating and scanning okay, i deleted three previous TH folders, v3.6, v3.5 & v3.0

subsequent registry scans with RegCleaner only turned up one unneeded key.
