Someone showed me recently a very real looking Microsoft email. It advised that certain patches needed to be downloaded soon. The patches were included in the email as attachments. Looked very good. Attachments were probably viruses or trojan horses or something like that.

Microsoft advises that it never sends attachments in email.

Don't know why the industry cannot get together to stop such rotten spam. I say: get a consortiom of ISP's together. Any email from outside their system gets flagged. Anyone in the system who send bulk emails must be verified and bond posted. Or something like that.
