the net value on a breakup will be less than $10 per share. I would guess $7.50.

You're loopy. Want to present any numbers that result in $7.50 per share?

At $12.50, MOT is only at 1.1x trailing 12 months sales. MOT's closest comparative companies by division are

SFA (cable)
NT/LU (telecom infrastructure)
NOK (cell phones)
NSM (semis)

And they all trade ABOVE 1.1x sales.

And that doesn't include the government 2 way radio division, the most profitable section of the whole company.

$7.50 per share for MOT would be something like 0.6x sales.

You wouldn't be a very good investment banker, as it seems you would just give the divisions away for 1/3rd of what the market would be willing to pay.....

Galvin's predecessor was named already. Galvin's successor is the one that may take at least 4 months to find.

The predecessor was the CEO BEFORE Galvin.
