Novak characterizes this as a breakdown in the Rove Machine. I think it's more than that. It is people emerging from the post 9/11 fog, where Bush received a blank check for almost anything. People are finally waking up, and realizing that the Bush story is, in fact, a story of spending, quagmire, job losses, and poverty. Economic recovery? Give rich people more money. Terrorism security? Invade unrelated countries while spending billions and putting our troops at risk. Education? Too expensive. Infrastructure? Too expensive. Environment? Expendable. Iraq? Pour in billions. Bin Laden? Who dat?

As their eyes finally clear, Americans will call the end to the Neocon Experiment. But, the question is no longer did it fail; it clearly has. No, the question is: is it too late to reverse it's effects and get this country back on the right track?
