"re:Actually, it is going extremely well in Iraq. "

LOL!! You write about it as though you just came back from a 3 month study of the region....no attributions for your info.

As for a poll of a paranoid and frightened people....What would they have to gain by taking a chance and giving their true feeling to some stranger????

That's BS about Iraq. It's very-very dangerous except for a few places. And the poll you cite was about whether they thought they'd be better off within 5 years, not if they're better off now. Most Iraqis say they are worse off now but are hoping and expecting things to improve over the years.

It's one thing to ask that positive stories be covered as well as the violence and deaths. It's another thing to make up fantasies about Iraq being some kind of functional society. Also, keep in mind, the Pentagon and White House are working hard to exaggerate the positives and cover up the negatives.

For instance, the fact that they have no real plan now and no way to relieve our troops there except a few at a time. That there is no oil revenue. That many thousands of or men have been woudned on top of the KIA's. That it is a guerilla war not just terrorists, and we have no idea who's attacking us yet. That makes it very difficult to police.

Bushies failure to get any other new countries to send in troops speaks volumes, and so does the fact the UN is all but pulling out for security reasons. If we cant even protect the UN, that is very serious. Much worse than Afgnanistan. and worst of all is the fact that we have absolutely no border control there, with potential enemies all around.

Maybe the Kurds are getting things under control and a few places in the south and in central Baghdad. Otherwise, you would not want to go there without the US military escorting you every place you go. Even then you'd be in danger of losing your life.
