When you quote something, I would like to see what or whom you are quoting before I respond.

Sorry......I thought it was something that you or I or Al had posted earlier today and that you were familiar with the paragraphs. However, I can't find where I got the paragraphs. It was a busy day for me. ;~((

do you understand what's happening in this war? Its not the rich who are sending their sons and daughters to fight; its the lower and middle classes. And yet in terms of paying of war, the rich are getting a discount.

That's pure demagoguery. I don't know why you feel the need to get into it.

Its not pure demagoguery, its the truth. And its not just happening with this war. Where was Bush during Vietnam? In the Air Nat. Guard and AWOL. Where was Cheney? "Busy"......his words not mine. And its not just the GOP....many Dem leaders are no better.

The wealthy have always found ways to stay away from physical danger of wars, if they wanted to, though there were exceptions of people volunteering.

Exactly, and this time the gov't is paying them for their cleverness.

As far as paying for the war, in terms of dollars, you can look up the statistics. The top 10% pay 65% of all taxes, or something like that. And what do you mean by discount? Have the changes in income tax rates changed the ratio so that the top 10% pay only say 64% (if so, show me a link). As far this being a discount, gee, thanks.

The rich were given a discount when the gov't is short of funds. Please tell me the logic in that one!
