"Who suggested Wilson for the Niger assignment?"

His wife (nepotism).

"What were his investigatory credentials?"

His well documented anti-war stance, drinking sweet tea
while sitting on his fat a$$ & a long history of bashing
the Bush Administration.

"Didn't anyone @ CIA consider that sending Wilson on
such an assignment might call attention to Wilson and
ergo, to his wife and her activities as well...???"

Um, that would fall under Clinton appointee George Tenet's
perview. Hmmmm......

Besides, if she was an analyst, perhaps that's why they
weren't overly concerned in the first place. If she was an
undercover agent, you make another excellent point.

"Was Mrs. Wilson really an undercover operative?"

That's the $64,000 question. So far Novak insists that he
was told by the CIA she was an analyst, which is public
knowledge info & not a violation of the law to disclose
her name.

"Why did Novak think it was no big deal to publish her
name when Tenet called him on it...seems very unlike Novak
and his attention to detail is legendary...?"

Perhaps he is telling the truth. He is after all, a
conservative, not a knee jerk, politically motivated,
conspiracy mongering, lying vermin from the left. And yes,
it seems very unlike Novak to publish something that might
bring harm to a CIA operative, let alone bring harm
(potential jail time & complete disgrace) to himself &
other conservatives.

Ah but then there are sooooo many conspiracy theories that
can be conjured to give the perception there is something
wrong in the White House...... regardless of the
preponderance of the facts.
