muslim religious leaders are politicians just like our politicians are. Putting them on the spot can make them look like western puppets, and the whackos will exploit that aspect. London, for example has a good number of real whackos, who should be just bumped off imho. I posted many of the problems on the FADG thread after 911 but before the Afghanistan invasion. They were really getting out of hand at that point. The invasion quieted them down somewhat which was most gratifying. It was in fact a neat way to send all the trouble makers to the front where they could be "processed".

Thing is it's a win win situation if played right. Muslims like our country and way of life. We have lots of trouble keeping them out in fact. Far more will come over to the lawful side of our country then those who would fight against it. The intelligence community here is probably full to the brim of Muslims working for us. I think that situation in gitmo is probably the result of some over zealous paranoia imho. I do know what USA officialdom is like when it gets motivated on an issue.

By the same token who should condemn the almost daily murder of muslim innocents? Sauce for the goose and the gander too?
