They want a special prosecutor named to find out who blew the cover of a CIA operative whose husband questioned a key rationale for the Iraq War. House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi says the Justice Department is part of the same Bush administration that, according to published reports, was behind the leak. She says if there was ever a case for a special counsel, "this is it." The agent's husband is an ex-ambassador to Africa who said his investigation failed to support President Bush's charge that Iraq tried to buy uranium there. The White House subsequently retracted the claim, and Democrats suspect the leak was retribution. Pelosi told reporters the issue is of the "utmost seriousness" -- potentially endangering national security, as well as the lives of under-cover operatives and their contacts. katu.com
