5:46PM Solectron-Nortel contract cut by almost $3 billion (SLR, NT) by Rex Crum
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- Solectron (SLR) shares fell as low as $5.61 in after-hours trading Tuesday after the company slashed the value of a contract with Nortel Networks (NT) by almost $3 billion. The new deal, valued at $7.5 billion over 10 years, replaces a previous contract pegged at $10.4 billion between 2000 and 2004. Solectron's shares lost 23 cents to close the regular session at $5.85.
