He was saying this is much more serious than Watergate.
I believe a certain President resigned over that one....and this is MORE serious.

As opposed to possible national security breaches. Watergate was just dirty poltics; this is serious, and the repercussions could lead to vulnerability and terrorism. If operatives are harder to find because they're afraid of dying for political gain, we are all less safe. The worst case scenerio, but even the possibility makes the crime that much more heinous.
