No doubt, if you are a builder of prisons, then Iraq is the gold rush standard. The administration is calling for building several prisons at a cost of $50,000 US per bed. This is nearly twice what we are spending on prison construction here in the US.

Almost every item on the list of wants under the $87 billion dollar request are way more money than we spend on our own infrastructure improvements.

This will mostly be done with American companies and a great deal of American techniques and labor.

This is wrong. We should be using the Iraqi resources to build the infrastructure. There is 50% unemployment in Iraq. Lets put the people of Iraq to work rebuilding and building Iraq. The infrastructure could be built for a fraction of the costs proposed by Bush's team, and it would mean full employment for the Iraqis.
