Then I thought about what other Presidents in the last 100 years fit that description. Just off the top of my head, TR, FDR, and JFK come to mind.

Don't forget Clinton's assistance to businessman Marc Rich.

Here is a list of many of the folks he helped the last day. Even his brother made the list.

That's interesting, Bill. Mutual back-scratching may be the "default" or path of least resistance for the well-connected ambitious young politician. But it's no less reprehensible for that. "Human, all too human..."
