Yes, I was thinking of Iraq as a NATION with individual STATES like we have in USA. Their constitution could be drawn up to give THEIR states the kind of power OUR STATES once had with the NATIONAL government only involved in INTRASTATE matters such as Commerce, Defense and the like. I dont know any Kurds but I have to believe they are human and peaceloving like most of us. Why would they not be content to have their own state where they could exercise significant political power, yet be part of a Nation to provide the benefits a larger entity could provide. Hopefully the 3 major ethnic groups will not let Religion get in the way of common sense. Course, I realize I am speaking as an American well used to the hodgepodge of religions, ethnic groups etc etc within our boundaries. jdn
