If you're going to throw that kind of credit around, you have to give some to the Reps too...after all, we controlled congress.

Sure. So is your point that the winning formula is a democratic/progressive president and a republican congress?

It's completely a stretch to give that credit however. While we where enjoying our market bubble, NK was secretly developing nukes and the terrorists were building strength. Clinton's term ended on a note of what was to come, the bombing of the USS Cole which he did nothing about afterward.

The terrorists were getting more aggressive even then, and George W Bush's policies obviously had nothing to do with it.

Speculation all around...I know that for 8 years things could not have been much better and Clinton was in the WH. Now you want to say that GHWB's policies were borne out for Clinton, and Clinton's policies are borne out for GW, that's understandably a conservative/republican talking point...but that's all it is.

Its a good thing historians are mostly not conservative......the pay is way too small for a self respecting conservative....otherwise, we would never have any truth in history.

No...the democrats delivered 8 years of peace and prosperity. I would say that results talk and bs walks.

Currently, we have a Rep. controlled Congress now under a Rep. president. Given that that combo is quickly leading us to disaster, I can hardly give credit to the Reps. I think it may be time to fold the party.
