I was living by a rail line at the time, you could almost watch the economy sink by the reduced number of cars on the trains.

Great way to do research! Broader market indicator than counting cars in the parking lot or trucks at the loading dock.

Did someone say 1991??? I remember fall, 1991 and Spring 1992 ---- I was finishing my BS degree and had 11+ years of experience working for an engineering company with the last 10 of those years doing programming and telecommunications consulting. I got my degree on the 15.5 year degree program. *smile*

Could I get a job? NO

Could I get an interview? Barely --- had 2; and in one of the interviews the guy told me that the hiring manager was a ladies's man and the other applicant was female.

After being laid off from Disney after 9/11; it took me just 10 weeks to find work. Granted, now, I am more highly trained, but the positions I could fill now are much fewer than in 1991/1992.

Any questions????
