I was giving you examples to illustrate the concept of 'fiat money'. There could be hundreds, even thousands of examples of the same. Technically, the US has employed a fiat money system since Nixon ended gold convertibility. Only in the last few years, however, has the growth rate in our money supply ramped up so dramatically --- far exceeding the base inflation rate. The dollar is being deliberately deflated (depreciated) --- woe to bond holders!
