I would think that instead of being so pushy, Israel would not reinforce the image in Arab countries that US is doing all this for Israel. Or that we are dupes of Israel and it's aims to continue taking over. Stop everyone from getting nuclear weapons so Israel is the only one in the region.

Israel IS asking for oil. Israel would love to be in control so as to be able to shut off the oil when it feels like it. Israel was keeping the aquifers when they offered a Palestinian pseudo-free state so they could cut offf the water at will.
The work had been going on of fixing an existing pipeline that had gone though Turkey.
