Everybody already knows what the term means, and that it's not a lame European car. Of course-what Patsy misses is that the world today turns on money backed by no more than "full faith and credit" of any national economy.

Thus the elegant archaic term "fiat money" is only used by libertarian whackos, economic ignoramuses (like Patsy himself), and precious metal hawkers, to make points based on pure ignorance, or the intent to defraud.

In other words the term is PERFECT for fanatical Democrats who really believe that anybody cares about some mindless bureaucrat's wife, working in DC, being "exposed" to the Islamic enemy...

Buddy,

The money supply is more of a function of the Banking Industry and the FED (reserve requirements, discount rate), than deficit spending.

re:"Siuffice it to say: "as long as increasing money supply does NOT cause an increase in inflation" is somewhat a contradiction in terms."
