Novak is not being frank or open about this. He's couching his statements and carefully wording them. Bottomline is the WH knows who spoke to him and they're not telling us.

Also don't forget the right-wing NY Post reported a WH high-up calling six reporters with the story.

If it was public knowledge about this woman's covert status the CIA wouldn't be demanding an investigation. The CIA is not exactly a Democratic stronghold. Liberals need not apply there.

Not only that, but it was "known around town" that she is the former U.S. Ambassador to Iraq's wife. Does anybody seriously contend that she could operate as a "covert spy" when everybody knows who she is, who she's married to, and has undoubted loyalty to the U.S.?

The left wing conspiracy is going to flop on this fable, big time.
