Industry Loses Jobs Despite Higher Output ----> meant PRODUCTIVITY. The garbage truck a few years ago had TWO persons: one driver and one running on the side to empty the garbage can to the truck -- I was up and out one morning saturday and saw the truck come by the curb of my house, the orange light flashing and the truck sticks out two forks, holding the garbage can, lifts it up and turn over upside down as it hover over the truck bin then slowly puts the can down on the curb....the truck moves to the next house... the automated truck may cost $50,000 but it saves right there one labor with all expenses in insurance, payroll cast, benefits.... that is the productivity.... BUT it generates jobs for the truck manufacturer, truck maintenance firms........
