What is the median cost of a Bay Area home?

fortunately, in many, many ways, the Bay Area is not 99% of the US.

I did not say "a middle class house". I said, "middle-class lifestyle." Huge, huge difference -

so...one adjective (middle class) has "huge, huge difference" in meaning when applied to "house" and "lifestyle", according to Amy J, even though the thing Amy J identified was a 400K house, not a lifestyle. somehow, Indians must pay 400K for a house, thereby obtaining not a middle class house, but a middle class "lifestyle"; for twain them lies a "huge, huge difference". these are just arbitrary distinctions you are creating.

What you're not understanding is that it takes a wealthy person to live a middle-class lifestyle in India.

no, what you're not understanding is that imo you're projecting the American idea of "middle-class" onto the rest of the world. this is typical American behavior, by the way.

in point of fact, there aren't enough resources in the world for everybody the world 'round to live the US "middle class lifestyle". the reason is, US steals from other countries, loots nonrenewable resources, pollutes the environment, and beggars future generations so as to afford an exorbitant lifestyle for a small fraction of the world population. royalty never lived like this in the past, and the US "middle class" won't live like this in the future, once the oil depletion reality can no longer be altered by US invasion of resource-rich foreign countries.

so, your idea of "middle class lifestyle" for the poor Indians is, imo, a fantasy notion. "middle class" in India cannot be judged by having three SUVs in the driveway a la America. it is like saying "let them eat cake".

Btw, when something disgusts you, try to stay angry with the content, not misdirect it at the messenger.

thank you for what seems to be a passive-aggressive barb masquerading as Enightened Wisdom. however, i regret to inform you that i am not directing "anger" at you, but rather humor. the notion that anybody in India who doesn't live in a 400K house is below middle class is quite funny, to me. the absurdity of this notion is brought into numeric form as per my previous post.
