Don't know about Johnson. I've seen him on the cable news programs over the past year or two and identified him as someone who defended the Bush administration. But didn't work from the approved script. Had his own. So I tended to listen. No more than that.

As I recall what he said on the Lehrer Hour it was that she had been at the CIA over three decades and he had worked with her for some portions of that. I don't recall whether he actually said the number of years or not.

As for the three decades comment, my first interpretation was the thirty years and since I then knew Wilson was 53, I assumed she was around that age and had gone to work at the CIA soon after graduating from college. However, on learning that she's in her early 40s, I think it's reasonable to assume the "over three decades" referred to 80s, 90s, 00s. But I genuinely don't know. Frankly, I don't think that's a big deal. There's no doubt she's been at the CIA for a good length of time and that she served as an "operative" during significant portions of that time.
